These images are of pages from this book that I was given as a present a few years ago. Some beautiful images and ideas. Saw a few and thought of the wedding; maybe we could get a rubber stamp with an image of keys and use that to emboss some fabric scraps? I have some silver embossing powder somewhere, but there are so many embossing powder colours we can use instead. Depends what the colour scheme of the wedding is??? Need to know that as well as how many people you are inviting; after that we can think about how much time things will take to make and how much we can spend....

Also love this alternative to a guest book. Much rather hang somthing on my wall. Do you think it would be too over the top to have paints and stuff to make art?! Definately too limiting to have an embroidery piece!

New Things and a Discovery

Nanny's Apple Cake

And this is the apple cake that I made using Nanny's recipe that Mum gave me the other week. Not in a pretty container (this is because of the discovery of mouse droppings in my flat...... yuk) but its a pretty cake and lasts for a whole week staying moist and lovely. Perhaps we should post the recipe sometime....                                                                                                                                                                

                      

New Teapot and Cups

This teapot with matching cups is part of my new discovery. A shop I have never seen before has popped up nearby, its a Danish homewares shop which is very cheap and a bit like Ikea without the furniture and without the horrible queues.  The teapot has such a nice fresh design with a bamboo handle and has a built in strainer inside and was only £6! The matching cups were just £2 each. Bargain no?!

Tea Tin

This tea caddy/tin was also from Tiger and just £1; lovely peacock design. I also got some great black candles; 4 for £1 and one of those rubber non slip mat things for £1. All in all I am very happy with my new purchases and my discovery. 

I can't believe we have somehow got the same plant; this is a pic of the one we were talking about on the phone; as you can see the black tinge is not really noticeable right now, perhaps as you say it will come back as the sun returns. It is an Echeveria called 'Black Prince' and the one in the background is called 'Duchess of Nuremberg'. Might plant them outside in a pot together when it gets warmer.

battling the morning (all day) sickness with blogging

i've been doing quite a bit of knitting to take my mind off feeling awful. past the halfway mark on a short-sleeved top i started about 5 years ago! lol!
food (and cooking) repulses me at the moment, which is really weird for me...
but feel free to tell me what you're cooking this weekend :)

our first joint stall!

Well, what an eventful weekend - so busy! And straight back into routine again (and present making), with hardly any time for blog posts! But here are my photos of our stall, before i pick up my sewing and carry on gifting/making...

last minute making

I made this blue sea teacosy after work on Monday night before dinner.  I have also been stuffing the pile of tree decorations during my teabreaks at work. Got mince pies and jam tarts to make tonight for the ladies at my stitching group at work; its our last stitching meeting before the holidays on Thursday night and we are all bringing something tasty to have while we work on our craft projects; I will hopefully be finishing off some of those decorations for the fair. Christine's Christmas Bunting

 This is some of the bunting Christine (my partners Mum for those who don't know) handmade to sell at the stall next weekend. Isn't it amazing?! There are some strings with large flags and some with smaller ones (the teddies are holding the smaller ones).

The stall will be at the Fowlmere Village Hall Famers Market on Saturday 11th Dec for those who want to know. Its a little village between Cambridge and Royston; come along if you are local! 

Oh and the photos are taken by Mum; thanks Mum for unpacking the parcels and displaying the bunting, and thanks to Ted MacDougal and Bunny too!

it doesn't always work

My hessian pot covers still aren't hemmed.

I was making peppermint bark last night and my ganache irreversably split.I started a wreath with lovely red twigs but haven't tied in all the ends yet.

At least i finished my christmas cards and am pleased with them.

Now i just have to write and post them. How much is 50 stamps? *cringe*
